Finally…what you have been waiting for!
How to take back control over your FS so that you can start living life again…

In my previous blog, I wrote about the potential cause of an FS: turning to the left repeatedly over the day. So, what is it that causes to do this so frequently? Around 90% of the Australian population is right handed so it’s not surprising that many things are set up for right handers e.g. kitchen sinks that are set up to work from right to left, causing us to twist to the left repeatedly OR are set up to cause us to turn left e.g. the way that many doors are hung. When we are distracted or in a hurry, we most likely default to using our right hand.

So, what could be the solution?? That’s right – you’ve got it!
USE YOUR LEFT HAND, whenever possible, especially when REACHING or PUSHING and TURN TO THE RIGHT.

Some examples:
Modify your kitchen sink, if necessary, so that you work from left to right and scrub plates/pans with your left hand.

Stand with the dishwasher or washing machine on your right, so that you reach across your body with your left hand, to load it.
Load your shopping trolley or car boot by twisting to the right, while holding your goods.
Always have people on your right when sitting on the couch or walking down the street.

BUT – this is only HALF of my 2 PART FS PROTOCOL – there are also 4 fundamental exercises in video 1 on this website. These exercises stretch out the deep hip/pelvic muscles that become tight from repeated turning to the left, effectively ‘locking in’ the left pelvic rotation and the compensatory FS.

SO now you know – SIMPLE. Becoming more aware of how we move is the first step in starting to relieve your back pain.

TAKE BACK CONTROL!
