It’s time to start taking back control over your chronic low back pain

Did you know that 4 out of 5 of the adult population will experience low back pain at some stage of their life (Health Direct 2024)?
According to Pain Australia (www.painaustralia.org.au/about-pain/forms-of-pain-2021/back-pain-2021), lower back pain is the most common form of chronic pain and is a leading cause of disability worldwide. It is also one of the most common reasons for people of working age to drop out of the workforce.
If you are one of the 4 in 5 mentioned above, these sobering statistics won’t surprise you…so if this is the case, why hasn’t an effective treatment been devised yet?
Well, be of good cheer – help is on the way: a new and innovative approach to the self-management of low back pain, based on observation in hundreds of cases, a thorough knowledge of biomechanics and more than 40 years of physiotherapy experience, has been developed. Refined and successfully trialled on hundreds of patients over a 10 year period, this protocol is safe, simple and manageable as well as suitable for all ages.
Tell me more…is this protocol suitable for anyone with chronic back pain?
If you take off your top and look closely in the mirror, check the following:
Does your torso and the way your arms hang look symmetrical? Are your waist angles even?
Ask someone to take a photo of your spine and note:
Are your shoulders level? Check your waist angles again – are they symmetrical? Is there a difference in the height of the arch in your feet – is one flatter than the other? If you answer no to at least 3 of these questions, you may well have a functional scoliosis: a curve in your spine from the way you use your body, leading to muscle imbalance in the torso. In that case, this protocol is definitely suitable for you. Originally released as ‘Left of Centre: Turn Your Life Right Around ‘ in 2021, my new updated book, ‘Banishing Back Pain : Relief is Within Reach’ will empower you to self-manage your low back pain through education regarding the likely causes. The book features over 50 images to help clearly demonstrate
- What to look for when identifying if you have a functional scoliosis
- The role that posture, particularly in sitting, has to play in aggravating neck and back pain
- How to change your habits to help relieve your chronic back symptoms.
When combined with the 4 simple exercises on the well paced and easy to follow videos, located on the website or on my YouTube channel ‘Valentyna Solowij’, this information can transform your life, by easing your chronic low back pain. These exercises only take up to 7 minutes and need to be done twice a day – yes, just like we have been educated to brush our teeth! Remember: you are like a badly knitted jumper – we are going to unpick your knots and reknit you in a better pattern. It can take up to 14 days before changes are noticed, but persevere.
So what are you waiting for? Time to get the book and to get on with living your life – good luck!
