Latest news: travel to the Blue Mountains, the Indie Authors Book Fair and release of the e-book version

A great day was had by all at Adelaide”s inaugural Indie Authors Book Fair on Saturday October 25. Held at the delightful Plant 4 at Bowden, it featured 65 authors and their books, of which ‘Banishing Back Pain: Relief is Within Reach’ was the only entry in the self-help category. Commencing at 9am and going through until 3.30pm, there was something for everyone, including panels throughout the day with such diverse genres as history, fantasy as well as business and of course, self-help. The panel that I spoke on consisted of David Walters discussing publishing, Laura de Lacey on marketing and was ably facilitated by the lovely Stacey Lee – and what a lively discussion it was! A wonderful opportunity, not only to meet other indie authors but to interact with enthusiastic members of the public. The first 8 sold copies of my book received a complimentary spikey ball – a popular incentive to purchase which also included an on-the-spot video on how to get the best use out of what looked like a novel addition to the back pain emergency first aid kit!

During my recent stay in the Blue Mountains, a bit of leg work secured interest from 2 bookshops: Gleebooks in Blackheath and The Little Lost Bookshop in Katoomba. I am delighted to have my book placed in more independent bookshops, in addition to Mostly Books at Mitcham – in my opinion, stores such as these reflect the true character of the towns in which they are located. I look forward to hearing how sales proceed!
HEAR YE, HEAR YE…!
As noted on the video of the panel at the Indie Authors Book Fair, the e-book version is now available from Amazon and can be be found here: https://www.amazon.com.au/Banishing-Back-Pain-Relief-Within-ebook.
